Then you must have heard about Sir chris hoy, the famous Scottish track cyclist representing Scotland and Great Britain. Having won three gold medals in Beijing 2008, and being world champion for multiple times, this 36 year old sportsman, is the most successful male Olympian among his contemporaries. Apart from being an ace cyclist, Chris Hoy was academically very sharp. He has been awarded few honorary doctorates from world class universities.

From the early childhood he had a passion for track cycling, though before taking that professionally he raced BMX for which he was sponsored and did rowing for which he participated in British Championships. Apart from that, he was playing rugby for his school team as well. From the age from 14, he fully concentrated on track cycling and since then, there was no looking back. In 2005, Chris Hoy was appointed as an MBE for his outstanding contribution to cycling.

Apart from being the Sportsman of the Year in 2008, he was also named as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. In the nest year he received the title of a Knight Bachelor, by the Queen. In the same year he was inducted to the Sports Hall of Fame to the University of Edinburgh. The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome as well as the Scottish National Velodrome (at Glasgow) is named for him, which is built for 2014 commonwealth games.

Chris Hoy was selected as the brand ambassador for 2012 summer Olympics at London. To talk about his personal life, Hoy is wedded to Sarra Kemp who is lawyer by profession from Edinburgh. Both of them stay at Salford, Great Manchestor. Richard Moore has written a book on chris hoy, and the man himself published his autobiography on 2009.
